Malchin and Khuiten Mountains at Tavan Bogd

Altai Tavan Bogd National Park

Meaning "Five Saints" - in reference to the five peaks that reach 4373 m (14,350 ft). Just a day drive from Olgii, a glacier and a view of 4 countries (Mongolia, Russia, Kazakhstan, and China) awaits you in Western Mongolia.

Khurgan and Khoton Nuur Lakes

Also located in Altai Tavan Bogd National Park, these two stunning lakes are located east of the glacier and mountains. Visit the nearby rock paintings, deer stones, and stone men; all while enjoying the abundant fishing in this traditional Kazakh countryside.

Eagle Hunting Festival

Taking place in early October, this festival showcases the Kazakh tradition of eagle hunting. Over these two days, you will also see Kazakh cultural games, such as Kokpar, Kiz Kuar, Tenge ilu, horse and camel racing. This truly is a one-of-a kind festival found only in Bayan-Olgii and western Mongolia.
